AKC Urban Dog Prep Class
Revamped Life-skills, for dogs living in a human world. This class is for all Emotional support, Therapy and Service dogs. This class is designed for real world encounters. After learning Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced level skills, this class is designed prepare you for AKC Urban Dog Testing will show you the real world application of those AKC CGC / CGC-A skills. Locations in San Fernando Valley, Woodland Hills, West Hills, Tarzana, Chatsworth, Van Nuys, Porter Ranch, Grandad Hills Canoga Park, Winnetka, Lake Balboa, Oxnard, Ventura, and Port Hueneme.

Revamped Life-skills, for dogs living in a human world. THIS CLASS IS A MUST FOR ALL EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, THERAPY and SERVICE DOGS! The students had a hand in developing this curriculum! This class is designed for real world encounters! After learning Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced level skills, this class is designed prepare you for AKC Urban Dog Testing and complement our other levels! This will show you the real world application of those AKC CGC / CGC-A skills!
Urban dog testing is usually done at class 6 for Urban dog class.
The class will include the following:
Addressing the "my dog won't listen when," issues.
Stay and Wait, anywhere!
Heel Walking on the left, paying attention to your owner, instead of everything else going on.
Greeting people on the street (not jumping up) and OTHER DOGS properly (not dragging you to them on leash).
Weaning off using rewards and clickers, some of you just skipped over this part;-)
Navigating elevators and stairs
Proper dog in public etiquette
Walking through a crowd without visiting people
Not being vocal
Not peeing unless released to do so
Noisy parking garages!
This is a six (6) week traveling class
Example:
First meeting at Tarzana Park,
week 2 at Encino Town Center,
Week 3 at Home Depot,
Week 4 Westfield Topanga,
Week 5 The Floor and Decor,
Week 6 at Encino Town Center for Graduation
Most of the Oxnard classes are at The Collection but some may be in Camarillo at Healthy Pet or Oxnard Natural Pet Supply and some at a local park!
Groups are usually held weekly, same day/time/location for the duration of the course. Classes are listed below by START DATE. Usually off Holidays and Holiday weekends.

Note: There are no refunds, credits, transfers or prorates for group class sessions, unless otherwise prearranged, once a series has begun. We require 48 hours notice, before class begins, to transfer to another class or refund a class fee!
